Saturday 19 December

Welcome to Kris, first class today.

Glen 130kg Deadlift Strength

Deadlift 5, 3, 3, 1, 1, 1 reps

W.O.D.
‘Nicole’

400m Run
1 set maximum rep pull ups

20min AMRAP

Score is number of pull ups completed.

We had a few PR’s this morning; Ness achieving 100kg for the deadlift and also achieving her first successful kip’s, a whole 38 of them! Mike lifted 120kg with good form, a huge achievement considering he only learnt how to Deadlift less than a month ago. Glen easily got 130kg and ran out of lifts, much more potential there.

I have been a member at CrossFit Birkenhead for the last 3 months and prior to that, CrossFit Birkenhead coach Paul Davies had been training me using CrossFit methods in one-on-one sessions. CrossFit workouts are unparallel to any other workouts in the New Zealand fitness industry today and it is not a new fad that is going to disappear anytime soon. In a CrossFit class members are always educated on best practise and technique is always taught and monitored. As a physician, I have been impressed by Paul’s ability to scale workouts to appropriately suit individual needs. Each CrossFit workout is always different and your body and mind is continually challenged. I have referred my own family and friends to Paul and many of them are now also members of CrossFit Birkenhead.
